The first Collective Agreement in Constantia Flexibles - ASAS Ambalaj in Turkey was finally signed on 11 April 2016 after it was organised 1 year ago.

"With these signatures we have a breaking through step at Constantia-ASAS, one of the biggest Packaging Company in Turkey" said Savas Nigar, President of Basin-Is, Graphical and Packaging affiliate in Turkey.

As a result of one year of negotiations, the first CBA was signed by Basin-Is, the UNI Graphical and Packaging affiliate, and Constantia Flexibles - ASAS Ambalaj with full support of its 203 members. The workers at production level are fully covered by the CBA which provides additionnal social premium, increase of wages and financial benefits, improvement of working conditions, paid leave and participation in the decision making process of discipline, health and safety, annual paid leave, working hours, shifts, etc.

Savas Nigar said: "We went through many difficulties and obstacles caused by legislation and jurisdiction but we are so happy and proud to sign our first CBA here without any loss and with full consensus of the organising committee and the members. This CBA is one of the outcomes of the good social dialogue and now it is time to work together on improving the productivity, health and safety standards, quality standards and built sustainable and constructive industrial relations for a better future."

Constantia Flexibles, an Austrian based multinational company, has more than 10'000 employees worldwide and produces at 54 sites in 23 countries. It acquired ASAŞ Ambalaj in 2011, which has been one of the biggest packaging companies in Turkey since 1978.
