TU, the Finnish trade union for Salaried Employees, and the employer association TIKLI have agreed upon a resolution that will immediately bring an end to strike and support strike action.



The dispute concerned DNA's plan to terminate a personnel programme which had been in place since 2007 and which ensured job security and certain other protections for staff in the event of DNA (or part of it) being sold to a new owner.



Some 1,000 DNA salaried employees began a strike on December 10, 2009. The strike affected customer services, trouble shooting, DNA shops and several other DNA functions. The following day, about 400 salaried employees of GoExcellent, a DNA subcontractor, began a support strike. On December 16, about 60 salaried employees of Eniro Sentraali, another DNA subcontractor, joined the support strike.



On December 18, TU announced a blockade of DNA.



On Sunday January 31, TU and the Employers' Association TIKLI were able to find common ground in the dispute at the teleoperator DNA. The parties have agreed not to publish the content of the agreement.



The new agreement between TU and TIKLI means an immediate end to all this industrial action. All employees are due to return to work no later than Thursday February 4.
