Banking and Insurance sector trade unions representing employees in Public, Private, Agricultural and Rural Banks and Insurance companies in Pakistan formed an alliance to create a strong national federation. During a focus group meeting held on 5th October 2015, the leaders of the respective unions decided to join the Pakistan Bank Insurance Finance Employees Federation (PBIFEF) the oldest UNI affiliate in Pakistan and to strengthen finance sector unions under one national federation.

At the focus group meeting the leaders have agreed to finalize the rules and statue of the new federation by 15th November 2015, and hold its re-launch conference by the first quarter of 2016.
