The European Parliament on 23 May gave a clear signal in favour of introducing a Financial Transaction Tax (FTT).

UNI Europa Finance welcomes this important political message and urges finance ministers and heads of states in Europe to follow this path. UNI Europa Finance has been at the forefront promoting a FTT as a key element in making the Finance industry contribute to a fairer society and putting a cap on speculation. It could effectively generate financial means to stimulate the real economy and thus paving a way out of the crisis.

According to a Eurobarometer survey, 66% of Europeans would welcome a FTT.
