The EC spokesman Fabio Pirotta told media that “The Commission has studied information sent by Polish authorities” and that “After deep analysis, it had decided to ask for more information in order to investigate whether the bill [is compatible] with EU law or not.” 



Generally, gambling is not strictly regulated in Poland and is quite widespread. The on-line gambling is unregulated as well thought the Polish government has established a ban on foreign on-line gambling sites. However, the ban is very loosely enforced, so Polish players gamble on-line regularly.
