E-Kart: The workers on strike are not alone!!



The strike at E-Kart is going into its third week. During this time, the workers of the company, members of Basin-Is and other unions, political parties and social movements have maintained their solidarity and their presence, and over this weekend a delegation of members from ver.di and UNI Graphical joined them.



Other unions affiliated to UNI, such as HABER-IS, BASISEN and TEZ KOOP-IS gave their full support to Basin-Is and the workers on strike.



“We will continue forward with our determination to defend the right to organize and collective bargaining,” expressed one of the workers on strike who said he felt supported by the multiple expressions of solidarity received from the unions as well as the social and political movements in Turkey and for the support from UNI and UNI Europa.



During this weekend, the representatives of ver.di and UNI Graphical will meet with the union and the workers. On Monday a meeting will be held with the company. “We hope that the path of dialogue can be taken up again, and that the union and the company begin to carry out collective bargaining,” said Adriana Rosenzvaig, UNI Graphical Head of Sector.
