UNI Global Union is supporting Bondgenoten as it returns to the bargaining table with the cleaning employers on Wednesday and Thursday.



The cleaners got a boost to their campaign when journalist, commentator and TV presenter Jort Kelder decided to publicly support their campaign. Kelder stood up for the strikers during a prime-time Dutch TV show and recorded a supportive video message: http://www.schoongenoeg.nu/2012/03/jort-kelder-is-een-schoonmaker/



Other Dutch politicians are also pledging their support and calling for cleaners of government buildings to be employed directly by the government and not by intermediary cleaning companies.



UNI Property Services affiliates from around the world have sent solidarity messages of to their sisters and brothers in the Netherlands. They also made many visits to Dutch embassies and consultates across the globe.



Over 10,800 supporters have joined the LabourStart online campaign telling top cleaning company executives to sit at the bargaining table in good faith to negotiate a fair deal for cleaners.



UNI and its affiliates will stand in solidarity with their Dutch colleagues until they get a fair contract.
