The cleaners' demands for respect continue. UNI Affiliates reach out to Dutch government and responsible companies.

Thousands of Dutch cleaners continue their strike in key cities in The Netherlands. Their demands center around respect and fair treatment on the job. Their employers have still not adequately responded on the issues that keep the parties from reaching an agreement such as sick pay, enough time to do the job properly and more respect and appreciation on the job. Salary negotiations are also at a standstill. The cleaners have concluded that the employers are not serious about salary negotiations. The cleaners' fight-back began on January 2. They will continue to march from city to city until the employers offer them a reasonable contract settlement.



UNI Affiliates have begun reaching out to employers and the Dutch government to demand a settlement and to underscore the inevitability of escalating this conflict, if a resolution is not reached. Their fight is our fight!
