Dear brothers and sisters,



As you are aware, the Third Regional Conference of UNI Americas approved carrying out the Day of Action for Mexico during the week of February 18 – 24, 2013 (Motion attached).



On February 19, UNI Americas will mobilize in Mexico with Mexican unions and other global unions. Our brother, Ruben Cortina, Regional President, will be there to support this movement, along with other national and international unions.



On February 22 we will develop a coordinated action among all our affiliates in each country to deliver the attached petition. The goal is to converge at the Mexican Embassy (among other activities deemed appropriate) in different countries, in order to deliver the petition demanding the free exercise of freedom of association in that country. We suggest requesting a hearing with the respective ambassadors to express our support for the fight that STRM is developing for their rights to organize and collective bargaining.



Please notify the regional office the names of the unions that will carry out these actions as well as a contact name. This information should be sent to:

deborah.lima@uniglobalunion.org and briceida.gonzalez@uniglobalunion.org, with copies to the Regional Secretary, Adriana.rosenzvaig@uniglobalunion.org so we can establish a coordinated action with other International Union Federations and the CSA.



We request that you please inform us of the actions you decide to take and send photos of the activities carried out, as well as materials prepared for this purpose.
