Citigroup: UNI demands full transparency on restructuring
11/24/2008 - In its letter to CEO Pandit, UNI asked that management at all levels engages with unions and employees in dialogue on the planned restructuring measures.
The announcement to cut 75,000 jobs worldwide and the second US government bail-out has hightened the concern of Citigroup employees worldwide.

In particular, the unions request that Citigroup urgently:
For UNI Global Union and its affiliates, it is essential that the programme is implemented without compulsory redundancies. Trade unions and workers’ representatives have to be fully consulted and involved in the restructuring process.
"With the bail-out given to Citibank by the US government," said Jennings, "there is a special obligation to conduct its business in a responsible fashion that engages all stakeholders actively and positively, including employees and their trade unions."
