Gaming workers lawfully settled in Monterrey city have marched to the Congress in the State of Nuevo León to demand the review of arbitrary measures taken by local authorities who have unilaterally changed the criteria to construe the law that governs gaming halls.

According to the workers, three thousand direct jobs and ten thousand indirect jobs have been affected by the negative consequences of these decisions and they argue these measures focus on just one specific gaming sector. Therefore, they have created a citizen movement called Todos Unidos Contra la Corrupción (All united against corruption- tucom) to look for concrete answers to the problem.

In their claims submitted before the Chamber of Deputies of Nuevo Léon workers demand that the jobs created by the affected companies be respected and that closings down in Monterrey be thoroughly investigated into, since they believe these are actions that aim at benefitting some sectors to the detriment of others. Workers also demand that the legal framework under which working permits are granted be reviewed.
