Call for strike at OTE



Negotiations for signing the collective labour contract for the year 2010 at the Greek telecom operator OTE reached a deadlock. The Administration of OTE, keeping an intransigent attitude and at many cases provocative position, demands its abolition. The Greek trade union OME-OTE does not want to bargain away but asked the Administration instead to reduce their enormous remunerations, to create conditions for growth, increase revenue and to sign the collective labour contract that would solve problems and ensure industrial peace and safety of workers.Having exhausted all possible options for consultation, OME-OTE calls all employees of OTE Group on strike on 29^th September 2010 to send a dynamic answer to the OTE Administration.

OME-OTE calls employees as well to demonstrate on the same day outside the union’s headquarters against the Administration’s plans. Depending on developments, the Council Board of the trade union will meet to evaluate the situation and to take decisions how to continue the struggle.
