Boots retail stores have decided to unilaterally introduce cost saving initiatives which will impact negatively on their workers, our members. Despite making record profits of €20 million in Ireland alone, the company want to impose measures on staff including wage reductions and less favourable terms and conditions.



UNI affiliate Mandate will not allow this opportunistic exploitation of the recession to the detriment of ordinary workers to take place. Particularly from such a profitable company which has over €70 million in cash reserves and is quite clearly still extremely profitable.



Mandate is in the process of balloting all of our members in Boots for industrial action and it is vital that we all stand together and say, ordinary workers will not be used as a sacrifice for the greed and insatiable desire for profits at the expense of Irish workers and their families.
