Private equity funds represent an increasing problem in a large number of sectors in UNI Europa as the take-over of companies by these funds often result in deterioration of working conditions and pressure on collective agreements, information and consultation rights, etc.



It is therefore important to ensure a proper regulation of the activities of these funds. The UNI Europa-ETUC technical expert network has over the past months developed a number of amendments that have been proposed in the Economic and Monetary Committee (ECON) in the European Parliament 20 January.



The amendments will be discussed in the ECON Committee 22 February 2010 and there will be a vote 12 April 2010. Before this, we need to convince the majority of the Committee of the importance of these amendments.



For this work, we will need everybody's help.

- The amendments that have been proposed by UNI Europa and the ETUC

- An explanatory note supporting the amendments

- A list of Members of the European Parliament in the ECON Committee
