9 May 2009 - ASPEK Youth held a Futsal tournament for all its affiliates including partner organisations. Futsal is a popular game among Indonesians and is catching on especially among young people. A total of 16 teams participated in this tournament and its line up included Team ILO Jakarta.



More than 200 people were present at the tournament and most of them are young people.



This is an innovative way to bring together young Indonesians and to create a greater awareness about the trade union movement and its vision. There were many new faces at the tournament, with Aspek youth affiliates bringing along their friends and family to this occasion. In addition, existing affiliates and partner organization took the opportunity to get to know one another in a casual, relaxed and healthy environment. This has certainly help in strengthening the solidarity among the workers.



The winners of this tournament received the "UNI Global Union – Asia & Pacific" cup. This Cup has been presented to the winning team by UNI Apro Regional Secretary Christopher Ng and Vice President of UNI Apro, Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal on 15 May 09.
