Argentinian film workers win 25 percent pay rise

25% INCREASE SALARY FOR ALL THE CINEMA’S WORKERS
April 29th was signed a salary agreement between all the companies which are part of the business of multiscreen in Argentina (CAEM), and the Asociación de Empresarios de Cinematógrafos (Cinema Businessmen Association), la Asociación de Empresarios Cinematográficos de la provincia de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Province’s Cinema Businessmen Association) y la Asociación Cinematográfica de Exhibidores Independientes de Capital Federal (Capital City’s Cinema Businessmen Independents Association) and NAI International and The Unique Trade Union of Workers of the Public Entertainment (SUTEP), which enables an important improvement in the salaries of cinema’s workers in the framework of collective agreements 493/07 and 523/07 from April 2010.
Fortunately, it was gained a 15% non remunerative increase salary from April to July 2010; it will be included in their basic salaries in August 2010. Moreover, 5% non remunerative in August 2010 which will be included in their basic salaries in October 2010 and finally, 5% non remunerative that will be integrated to the basic salary in January 2011.
To sum up, we had obtained a total increase of 25% for the current 2010. By January 1st 2011 the salary will be totally conformed.
The present agreement will be a benefit to a whole of 9000 cinema’s workers around the country. It is important to taking into account that it is a great achievement into the workers salary. No doubt, we will continue working day by day in our task for improving our affiliate’s future.
NEW SALARY AGREEMENTS FOR ALL THE RADIO’S WORKERS
Aril 23rd was signed a salary agreement between Asociación de Radiodifusoras Privadas Argentinas (A.R.P.A- Argentinian Private Radio Association) and The Unique Trade Union of Workers of the Public Entertainment (SUTEP). This rise benefit to every workers in AM- FM Commercial Radios, from high to low power, in the framework of collectives agreements 141/75 and 140/75. The rising salary signed with Enterprise’s Chamber of the private radio sector represents an increase of 25% on the current salaries of December 2009 and takes place from April 1st to December 2010. The agreement includes a salary guarantee clause 200 Argentinean pesos for January, February and March 2011. This increase will be a benefit to a whole of 8000 workers. It is worth to underline the good predisposition demonstrated by the businessmen in the sector. This is a great achievement because it equilibrates our salaries with the real economy cifres in the country answering, in this way, the worker’s claims in favour of a fair salary. |
