ANEBRE is committed to gender equality

UNI americas wants to highlight this significant advance in the struggle for gender equality, given that ANEBRE has over 45 years since its constitution, and more than 30% of its membership are women, however, until now the union hadn’t had the female participation in its structures. The auto-reform of the trade union movement also established a minimum percentage of representation for the participation of women in all decision-making bodies of ANEBRE. Currently, with the election of Sister Montaño the unions in the region also are moving towards achieving the target set by UNI Global Union to reach the long-term aim of 40% representation of any one gender in all decision-making structures.
