The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) will launch its third European Quality of Life Survey (3EQLS) on Thursday 29 November 2012 at an event in Brussels, Belgium, which will be live-streamed.
The survey investigates pertinent issues affecting the lives of European citizens such as employment, health status, income, perceived quality of life, and overall social and life satisfaction. The survey allows the examination over time of trends in the views and experiences of citizens over the economic, financial and social crisis.
The EQLS is an authoritative tool in the analysis of quality of life in the EU. It was first carried out in 2003 and repeated in 2007 and 2011 allowing the detailed investigation of quality of life perceptions trends over time. The third survey carried out in 2011, provides a reliable picture of living conditions as well as the social situation in the EU. The qualitative longitudinal trend analysis enables cross–country comparisons. Profound economic and social changes that occurred in Europe between the different iterations of the EQLS have been taken into account and will be reflected in the overview report.
Fieldwork for the third EQLS was carried out from the end of September 2011 to early February 2012 in the 27 EU Member States and from May to July 2012 in seven candidate or pre-accession countries (Croatia, Iceland, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey). The overview report, which will be published on Thursday 29 November 2012 on Eurofound's website, is based on survey data and analysis covering the 27 EU Member States and seven candidate or pre-accession countries. Survey data will be accessible in its totality and via a categorisation of own areas of interest and parameters, through the new Survey Mapping Tool.
