For the 5,000 employees of Holland Casino a Collective Agreement has finally been reached. For a one-year period starting 1 April 08 a structural raise of 3% has been agreed. Most of the problems have been solved for this period, but the collective bargaining for the next agreement will be the most challenging ever. Holland Casino has recently presented its plans for the future and they are not

very promising for the working-conditions of the employees. The workers will be expected to work 20 days more every year without additional pay. The croupiers would have to work longer periods before getting a break. Senior-workers would lose the extra days-off they are currently entitled to for working late and irregular hours. UNI Gaming’s Dutch affiliates Vakbond ABC, De Unie and FNV Bongenoten are preparing for a long and hard battle.
