The Financial Insitutes Employees Union of Nepal (FIEUN) won big - finally reaching an amicable settlement with the Agricultural Development Bank on its 29 points of demand.

FIEUN had been taking industrial action since 27 July and withheld 33 long days of strike to pursue its demands.



The 29 points agreement between the union and the bank would mean equal pay for equal work for all workers, coverage of retirement benefits, extending greater workplace protection and tenure of service as well as a recognition for workers' and trade union rights.



This is especially a major break through for FIEUN and the union movement in Nepal - a country still struggling with delivering political, social and economical stability.
