Dear colleagues,

As you will recall from the last meeting, the agreed date for the next UNI Europa P&M Steering Committee meeting is Monday 16 January 2017 in Berlin, Germany.

Time and venue of the meeting

The meeting will be held at the headquarters of UNI’s affiliate, Ver.di, which is situated at: Paula-Thiede-Ufer 10, 10179 Berlin, Germany. The meeting is scheduled to start at 10.00 and will close at around 16.00 on the same day.

A draft agenda is attached. If you have any additional items that you would like to propose to include on the agenda, please email: pav.akhtar@uniglobalunion.org before Monday 9 January 2017.

Please ensure that you have spoken to UNI Europa P&M affiliates in your area/sector and submit a short written report that you will be invited to elaborate on.

Participation

Please return the enclosed registration form by no later than 9 January 2017 to: vicente.garcia@uniglobalunion.org If you cannot attend the meeting, please also send us a small message to inform us about your unavailability to attend.

Nominations for Eurocadres Executive

UNI Europa P&M Group can make two nominations to Eurocadres. UNI Europa P&M Steering Group member are invited to nominate themselves or a candidate from their union for one of the two positions:

One nomination for Vice President of Eurocadres (there are 6 Vice Presidents nominated by different bodies)

The Vice President candidate is expected to actively represent UNI Europa P&M Group affiliates at Eurocadres. The commitment required is one day per week to work on Eurocadres activity. The candidate is expected to attend monthly Eurocadres Presidium and Executive Committee meetings, as well as attending UNI Europa P&M meetings to report back on progress.

One nomination for an Executive Committee member of Eurocadres

The Executive Committee member is expected to actively offer support for the work of Eurocadres. The Executive Committee member is expected to attend bi-monthly Executive Committee meetings, as well as attending UNI Europa P&M meetings to report back on progress.

Attendance at UNI’s Global IT Organizing Conference 17-19 January in Berlin

The UNI ICTS sector Global IT Organising Conference will be held in the same venue as our meeting from 17-19 January. The conference will explore different aspects of organising IT workers globally and to share best practices with a mix of plenary discussion and workshops.
