Members of the UNI BLC joined the global community to observe International Women's Day on 8 March, 2018 with a rally and human chain in front of National Press Club, Dhaka.

They were trying to create mass awareness to ensure dignified life for womenfolk through establishing women's rights in Bangladesh where they are still vulnerable to exploitation and discrimination especially in the workplace.

The affiliates called loudly for no more gender discrimination at work and for a fairer economy where women can receive equal pay for the same job. They also called for a society which shows zero tolerance for violence against women where they can live freely without fear.
