Trade unions representing members in IT companies in Europe gathered for the first meeting of the UNI Europa IT Organizing Network meeting in Bucharest, Romania on 24-25 October. The Organizing Network was launched in June this year as an effort to improve the unionization rate in IT in Europe and to facilitate cooperation between trade unions in key IT companies in Europe. Similar efforts are also under way in UNI Asia and Pacific, as UNI’s affiliates globally are looking to break through in this rapidly growing but historically unorganized industry.
