A delegation from UNI Apro’s secretariat paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Vietnam Trade Union of Workers in Industry and Trade (VUIT).

The UNI Apro delegation was headed by Bro Christopher Ng, Regional Secretary UNI Apro, Sis Alice Chang, UNI Apro Director, Bro Chau Nhat Binh, Country coordinator in Vietnam, Bro Shoichi Hachino Vice President of UNI Apro Commerce, Bro Daisuke Fujiyoshi, UNI Apro Commerce Committee Member, Sis Hanae Nakano, Director International Dept UA ZENSEN, Bro Akitoshi Tsuda, Deputy International Dept JAW and Sis Yoko Morikawa, UNI LCJ.

VUIT's President Bro Ly Quoc Hung, and together with their three Vice Presidents Bro Nyuyen Xuan Thai, Ta Thi Van Anh and Trinh Xuan Tuyen, extended a warm welcome to the UNI Apro delegation to their office. 

The delegation was briefed about the union which was an amalgamation of two national unions on 1 November 2007.  One of the component unions, the Vietnam National Union of Workers in Commerce & Tourism had close cooperation with UNI Apro and the-then JSD (now UA ZENSEN).

VUIT represents 165,000 members from across 23 Industries and sectors in Vietnam. Due to the wide variance of sectors, VUIT is affiliated with both IndustriALL and UNI Apro. VUIT is especially interested to learn about new forms of work, changes in the industrial relationship due to trade agreements and the promotion of partnership industrial relations when dealing with multinational companies. UNI Apro and VUIT agreed to work closely together to ensure decent working conditions for its members.
