UNI Global Union is in mourning after the sad news that former secretary general of Filpac-CGT, Marc Peyrade passed away last week.

“Marc ensured that Filpac-CGT led a ceaseless and uncompromising fight for social justice and equality”, said UNI general secretary Philip Jennings.

“He will be remembered as a courageous and dedicated leader, but he will be missed above all else for his humanity and for his humility.”

From the start, Marc was a breath of fresh air and brought hope to Filpac, even when restructuring and dismissals in their sectors were rife and morale was low. Until the end, Marc was engaged and dedicated to fighting for trade union rights and resisting political oppression.

Aside from his exceptional political abilities and convictions, Marc will be remembered for his positive outlook and especially his work in the ICTS sector. He worked determinedly to ensure that workers in new fields such as the ICTS sector were represented in the new world of work.
