Radio Labour has marked World Health Day by highlighting the challenges care workers at the front lines are facing- with zero hours contracts, low pay, and a lack of respect for the work they do hacing an impact on society's most vilnerable - the elderly, those with disabilities, and children who are in need of good quality and reliable care services. 

UNI Global Union's UNICARE sector held a roundtable event at the European Parliament last month to highlight both the chronic staffing shortages in the care sector, and the challenges and changes needed to ensure Europe's system of care can meet future demand.
