"The European Commission's call for gender equality lacks commitment to necessary legislative action on equal pay," said Oliver Roethig, Regional Secretary of UNI Europa in support of ETUC's press release on Equal Pay Day.

"Equal pay is one of UNI Europa's key demands. The fight against the deplorable gender pay gap in Europe will not be won by empty words. We can only start closing the gender pay gap with a clear framework, created in collaboration with the trade unions and other social partners, including legislative action to revise the Equal Pay Directive" Roethig added.
