Focusing on improving the wage and labour conditions for non-regular workers, the Federation of Labour Bank Workers’ Unions of Japan (Zenrokin) campaigned to eliminate job insecurity, increase wage, and implement an annual/retirement allowance system at the spring labour offensive.

Finally, affiliates of Zenrokin gained the following good results:

- The twelve affiliated unions of Zenrokin out of fourteen won over the conversion of non-regular workers into indefinite-term employment.
- Four affiliates have increased non-regular workers’ wages by an average of 3,338JPY.
- Five affiliates increased the amount of their annual bonus (calculated by their monthly salary) from the previous year with a total of all fourteen affiliates achieving the payment of the said bonus.
- Two affiliates established a retirement allowance system with a total of thirteen affiliates achieving the payment of the said allowance to non-regular workers.

Though Zenrokin is an industry-based union consisted of 13 regional Labour Banks and its central organization of the regional Labour Banks for a total of 14 affiliated unions, we established a “unified set of demands” which all our fourteen affiliates  fought together to achieve.  All unions submitted the demands on the same date, and aligned our efforts and campaigned as one for the following three weeks. This allowed us to win our demands together.
