UNI Global Union, in conjunction with Justice for Colombia, is sponsoring a union meeting to discuss serious and ongoing allegations of human rights violations in Colombia and Peru, in particular, by the Spanish security multinational Prosegur and how unions in the UK can provide solidarity support to workers in South America.  This meeting is scheduled for March 30 in London (details to follow).  These meetings will highlight numerous documented allegations of violations by Prosegur of basic international rules concerning freedom of association and collective bargaining. 

Through worker stories and other materials, UNI Americas Organising Director and the UNI Property Services Head of Department will share documents and confirmed instances where union members report the company’s disregard for the law, harassment, discrimination, spying on and retaliation against leaders and activists, dismissals of workers who engage in lawful strikes, violence against trade unionists, undermining collective bargaining and entering into sham collective agreements as well as “pacto colectivos” which undermine collective agreements and the union itself.
