UNI Post & Logistics Affiliates APWU, NALC and NPMHU have joined more than 60 other organizations in what's being called a "Grand Alliance to Save Our Public Postal Service." Facing unprecedented attacks from a right-wing Congress and postal management committed to dismantling the United States Postal Service, the unions and other groups have joined ranks to defend a future for a high-quality, public postal service. 

The Grand Alliance includes in its mission statement: "The people of this country deserve great public postal services. We advocate expanded services, such as non-profit postal banking and other financial services. We call on the Postmaster General and Postal Board of Governors to strengthen and champion the institution."

Stephen DeMatteo, UNI P&L Head of Department, said, "UNI applauds the effort of our American affiliates to build a broad movement in defense of quality postal services in the United States. The USPS is the world's largest and most efficient postal system. And it has massive potential to grow its role in the 21st century. Those who are bent on destroying the USPS are driven by misguided philosophy and the Grand Alliance will be crucial to defending America's quality postal service for years to come."
