On 24 March 2014, Hayet Trabelsi was reelected General Secretary of the General Federation of Professions and Services of Tunisia (FGPS).

This is not a first, of course. However, this time, she received the vote of all men entitled to do so.

The group of 9 persons who shall constitute the Executive Board elected Hayet unanimously although she was the only woman with 8 men.

This is the first time that 8 men elected in a trade union board choose the only woman with them for the post of Secretary General...
