On March 13,  President of UNI Europa Gaming Pilar Rato, UNI Europa Regional Secretary Oliver Roethig and UNI Gaming Director Giedre Lelyte met with the Board members of the European Casino Association (ECA). It was the first meeting with the European casino employers on the European level. UNI Europa's group presented the activities of the organisation, emphasising the importance of the social dialogue on the European level as well as possible areas of co-operation, namely - professional training of employees, joint actions addressing money laundering and illegal gambling. The ECA Board members agreed there could common interests and suggested coming back to UNI Europa after broader consultations with all their members.

It was agreed to continue the discussions on possible topics of joint interest exchanging ideas on joint areas of work.

The European Casino Association represents national associations and individual operators of licensed land-based casinos in Europe. It represents the interests of approximately 800 casinos and 55,000 employees in 24 countries across Europe.
