UK pension fund trustees distrust private equity buyouts, reports London Stock Exchange Investment News. In a survey of 250 trustees conducted by pensions advisory firm Aon Consulting, 72% said they would be concerned by a leveraged (debt-financed) buyout. At 80%, concerns were even more widespread among the trustees of larger pension funds. The principal worry among the trustees surveyed was that problems with short-term funding could arise. Others feared that the new owners would not prioritise the interests of the pension fund members.
