A vacancy exists for a full-time department assistant at UNI Head Office in Nyon, Switzerland.

The job focuses on contributing to planning and implementing the activities of UNI Global Union. This includes:

1. Administrative support to the Head of Departments of three sectors.

2. Arranging travel and hotel bookings.

3. Organisation of meetings and conferences.

4. Liaising with UNI affiliates.

Candidates must be able to write and converse fully in English and Spanish. Knowledge of any other of the official languages of UNI is desirable.

Candidates should be able to communicate and disseminate information easily to affiliates using the email/internet and the UNI website.

The Candidate must have some experience as an assistant, knowledge and understanding of trade union activities and be prepared to travel as necessary.

The person appointed will be expected to work with the team of UNI officers dealing with sector questions under the direction of the Head of Department concerned.

The assistant may be transferred to other departments at UNI Head Office.

The terms and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement applying to all staff employed at UNI Head Office.
