After visiting Prosegur, with support of their Spanish "companeros" from CC.OO Actividades diversas, a delegation from CNTV-CUT, Brazil, participated in UNI-Europa?s workshop on Cash-in-Transit on September 10th.



The Brazillian delegation was sent to Europe to debate issues around new technology in the security industry. President CNTV-CUT José Boaventura Santos explained that the debate in Brazil is split between those who are concerned about losing their jobs and others who see potential benefits in that new technologies can bring better health and safety protection on the job.



During a visit to Brinks, organised thanks to the Belgian unions Setca-FGTB and CSC, the Brazilian trade unionists watched demonstrations of IBNS manipulation and security processes. In Belgium, the use of IBNS systems became compulsory by law in 2005. Companies like Brinks reduced Cash-in-Transit transport crews from 3 to 2 workers. The social implications for workers in Belgium were reduced by government policies and subsidies which allowed workers to take early retirement.
