UNI's British affiliate Connect welcomes the publication of the Caio Report on broadband services and the progress that this marks for NGA (Next Generation Access) in the UK.



The union is pleased that the report highlights the importance of broadband both to the UK economy and to consumers and the specific importance of NGA to consumers and business in the long term. Connect has been calling for the Government and Ofcom to create the right conditions for investment and this report addresses many of our concerns.



The report rightly identifies many of the changes that will be necessary to allow future investment in NGA technology and we look forward to continuing to work closely with Ofcom, the Government and industry on the delivery of this vital technology.
