The TUC recently set up a new informal public blog called ToUChstone blog - http://www.touchstoneblog.org.uk.



The idea is to communicate more about policy work directly with interested stakeholders. Staff feeding the TUC's new blog have a lot of interesting views and developments that aren't publicised unless they're big enough to devote a whole report to.

This lets them report on anything they would like, without intermediation by the press.

The TUC hopes they will also be able to engage more with other bloggers and blogging organisations, taking the TUC's views out of the organisation and more into public debate.



Why the name ToUChstone? - because it's also the name of the new series of pamphlets produced by the TUC (http://www.tuc.org.uk/touchstone) designed to influence public debate and discuss policy areas in a strategic way without formally committing the TUC.
