UNI Post & Logistics Global Union and it's European affiliates have been asking candidates for election to the European Parliament, to sign a declaration concerning the maintenance of a quality affordable universal postal service.



The candidates in signing acknowledge the vital importance of postal services for the general public good. They acknowledge that postal services form an essential and invaluable part of the fabric of our society which binds communities and citizens, regardless of age, race or status in keeping with the vision we should have of a Europe that serves all citizens equally. The candidates sign to say they want to demonstrate that postal services should also provide important, decent and stable jobs that have to be protected and maintained even in times of liberalisation and financial crisis.
