Some 50 union leaders, workers and children at the ceremony came together to watch a film from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) about eliminating the worst forms of child labour, without which there cannot be a real future for decent work in Africa.



The President of the Côte d’Ivoire Liaison Committee said that the idea of decent work must be based in the four strategic objectives of the ILO and said that African countries in general, and Côte d’Ivoire, in particular, must work to ensure that the idea of decent work becomes a reality.



UNI Africa has made decent work a centrepiece of its program and it sees it as an integral part of the economic development of Africa and key to achieving the Millennium Development goals.
