We are pleased to invite your young members from UNI affiliates to be represented at the UNI-Europa Youth Seminar which will be held in Antwerp, Belgium. The event is open to young trade unionists under the age of 35 from all UNI-Europa affiliates.



The seminar will discuss topics such as: Youth organising decent work, free education, wage models and climate change.



The meeting will start on Thursday, 28 January at 09.00 and will finish on Friday 29 January at 17:00. The conference dinner party will be held on the evening of the 28th courtesy of the UNI Belgian affiliates.



Participants

In line with the UNI-Europa Statutes and the UNI-Europa Youth Rules, participants should not be older than 35 years of age. Affiliates are encouraged to ensure that the composition of their delegations to the meeting is a reflection of the age and gender structure of the youth membership of their union with the aim to further decrease the average age of the participants to the UNI-Europa Youth Committee meeting.



Interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation will be available to and from English, French, German and Spanish. Passive interpretation will be available from Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Portuguese and Swedish.



It would, however, be beneficial for participants to have some knowledge of English in order to be able to communicate more easily with each other.

The meeting will take place at the LBC-NVK Headquarters in Antwerp.

Visa

Any participants requiring a visa for Belgium are advised to make the arrangements in good time before travelling.



Expenses and Insurance

Travelling and subsistence expenses of participants are the responsibility of the affiliate concerned. UNI cannot take out insurance coverage for participants.



Meeting documentation

Meeting documents and an information pack will be sent to all participants and will be posted on the meeting web page as soon as they become available.



Poster presentation

It would be helpful if all union delegations take the opportunity to bring a poster that would highlight the work that the youth in your union has done or on general organising issues. We will have a display area where all unions’ ideas can be seen and discussed.
