The meeting took place within the EU representation of Baden-Württemberg premises. It brought together Mr. Gottschling and Mr. Diplas (Deutsche Bank), Mr. Karas (EPP Member of the European Parliament) and Mr. Wright (DG Internal Market and Services, European Commission).

This debate mainly focused on how far EU regulation concerning the capital requirements should go . Mr. Wright preached for a regulation which would go far enough to avoid new financial crisis. It contrasted with the position defended by the Deutsche Bank representatives, aiming at promoting a lighter regulation to help banks recovery.

The "Remuneration issue" was raised by Mr. Karas who declared: "There will be no bonus if there is no possible malus". He fostered the bonuses granting only in case of long-term strategies as well as a higher degree of transparency within remuneration systems.
