Following the very successful meeting in Cordoba with members from Tetrapak plants, the UNI Graphical delegation then travelled to Chile to meet Conagra and visit Worldcolor and RR Donnelley’s.



Juan Palma, the President of Conagra and some members of his Executive Committee discussed with both Marvin Largaespada ( Graphical Regional America’s) and Steve Walsh (Head of Department) the challenges facing the graphical sector in Chile.



A major focus of their recent efforts have been in assisting the many members whose lives were devastated by the earthquakes and they have been organizing collections to assist those members.



Conagra outlined their action plans for 2010 and though implementation had been delayed because of the impact of the earthquake, they are concentrating on providing basic skills training for their shop stewards.



Conagra is very much committed to the ongoing campaigns within the multinational companies.



There are a number of active women members who are now participating in UNI’s womens networks.



In addition to the meeting with Conagra we also toured both Worldcolor and RR Donnelley’s where there were discussions with the plant union leadership and members.
