While Greece is on the verge of collapse, European Union authorities show their incapacity to take the relevant and urgent decisions.



Greek workers and the Greek population need our support now. We are in an emergency situation and EU countries must take the relevant emergency measures.



Give Greece access to loans without having to pay extra interest as a result of speculative attack. When the situation is stabilised the issue of trade imbalances must be addressed in a way that also calls on surplus countries to play their part. Efficient financial control and European economic governance are required in the future.



UNI Europa supports the ETUC initiative towards the EU President and EU Council on the current Greek and Euro crisis.



UNI Europa stands in solidarity with Greek workers and the Greek people.



They are paying an unfair and unbearable price for their government's mismanagement, for foreign speculation and lack of EU economic governance. They must be helped now.
