TNT employees in Germany want the same pay for same work



In June TNT employees in Cologne, Dusseldorf and Krefeld demonstrated in front of the main stations to campaign for better working conditions. Their demand; equal pay for the same activity. TNT delivery persons earn on average 25% less than their colleagues in the Deutsche Post and have 1 week less for vacation.



UNI Post & Logistics affiliate, ver.di is currently touring with the a huge red duck as a symbol of resistance against wage and social dumping in the postal sector and the campaign. TNT will pay from 7.5 euro per hour and employs the staff only on a 6-hourly basis. This means a monthly wage of € 900, - net, that is the justification that workers can claim from the German authorities social assistance.



TNT delivery persons are doing the same activity as other postal delivery people, they must deliver the mail in all weather conditions, regardless of the weight of the packages, just like their colleagues, and they are facing the same problems with customers and running away from the same dogs so it is only fair that they also deserve the same.
