On the 20^th July 2010, a trade union delegation – brother Tran Van Ly, Director of the International Department of Viet Nam General Confederation (VGCL); brother Chau Nhat Binh, Vice Director of the International Department of VGCL; brother Hoang Huy Loat, President of Viet Nam National Union of Post and Telecom Workers (VNUPTW) and Chairman 2010 of ASETUC; brother Christopher NG, the Regional Secretaries of UNI Apro; brother Apolinar Tolentino, Regional Secretary of BWI AP paid a courtesy call to the leadership of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Mr Hoang Van Dung, Vice Standing President and Mr Tran Chi Dung, Deputy Director of Bureau for Employers' Activities, represented VCCI to host the meeting at VCCI’s head quarter in Ha Noi, Viet Nam. The meeting was initiated by Viet Nam Trade Unions in the spirit of establishing partnership and cooperation between the representative bodies of employees and employers in Viet Nam.

VCCI originally represented state owned enterprises but has gradually expanded their membership to private and foreign companies. VCCI is identified by the ASETUC Viet Nam Working Group to be the most representative employer association and counterpart of VGCL in Viet Nam.

The visit brings the partners closer in understanding each other’s role in the market economy and in recognizing the importance of constructive support and mutual respect from each organization in order to build up a successful bipartite partnership.
