Pakistan Post Workers block Karachi traffic in protest against proposed privatisation



Postal  workers in Karachi protested against proposed privatisation of Pakistan Post at the post facility in I.I Chunrigar Road Karachi. Many media were presnt and they reported that the workers had vowed not to allow the government to play with the fate of 47 thousand employees of Pakistan postal services. The I.I Chundrigar Road remained blocked for 2 hours by the protesting workers which created a serious traffic jam.



The Pakistan Post Unions Privatisation Action Committee said government was dodging the employees of Pakistan Post and they are misleading people by saying that there is no plan to privatise the post. However in reality government has finalised the plans for the privatisation. Addressing the protesting postal workers, the leaders of postal Action  Committee M/s Syed Abbas Zaidi, Asad ullah khan and Jamil Akhtar said that the privatisation will be tantamount to the financial killing of 47 thousands  workers of Pakistan Post. The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the privatization .
