An evaluation seminar on Health and Safety at Work was held on October 18 and 19 of this year, for the unions in the graphical and packaging sector of the region.



Union specialists in this field assessed the actions carried out from August 2010 to date.



The participants evaluated all the instruments used to divulge the actions developed.



"We now have Health and Safety Committees working in our company and theunions are involved in this process," stated some participants from QuadGraphicsPeru, who distributed written material to the participants.



"We are taking the Health and Safety at Work discussion to the very last graphical worker in Bolivia," expressed Gutenberg Escobar from the Bolivian Graphical Federation.



Noise has been identified as the major factor that affects this industry, and a schedule of activities has been established to continue raising awareness, as well as a series of demands to the company management in order to gradually improve the problems identified by these union leaders.



New tools and updated information on Health and Safety at Work was provided during these two days of very intense training.



Union growth and strengthening were the main issues discussed, and guidelines were established to further advance in organizing this sector planned for 2012.
