The joint strike action of the Nigerian Labour Congress and its affiliates including the Radio, Television & Theatre Workers' Union RATTAWU concerning the removal of oil subsidy has been suspended on 16 January following the decision of the Nigerian government to reduce the fuel price. The strike action was suspended to give room for negotiations.



RATTAWU has expressed concern over the pressure the government has been putting on media during recent events.
