On 29th February hypermarkets’ employees organised a happening in front of the National Stadium in Warsaw. They wanted to draw public attention on working conditions in commerce in Poland. The place and date were chosen on purpose. On that day, for the first time on the newly opened National Stadium, a match between Poland and Portugal took place. The Portuguese are the owners of Biedronka shops in Poland – this is the biggest chain of stores in this country.

On one side the „manager” kicking the ball, on the other side the employee argued to bigger engagement in the play meaning work. The whole scene was adorned with insolent remarks which were told by many shop managers towards their subordinates.



- “We want to draw people’s attention on worsening working conditions in super and hypermarkets. More and more people report those pathologies on the website www.hiperwyzysk.pl – said one of the action organisers Alfred Bujara, the president of the National Section of Commerce Sector Employees NSZZ „Solidarność"".
