The UNIÓN de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras de Carrefour Colombia, with the support of UNI Americas President Rubén Cortina and UNI Americas Commerce Regional Director Eduardo San Román submitted a draft document containing the conditions that will be the base for the negotiation of the first collective agreement between the company and the union. The union was formed last year and is the result of the global agreement signed by UNI Global Union and the French multinational. Two weeks ago Carrefour worksers in Colombia elected union representatives and district union boards. Negotiations will be conducted in March and part of April. The collective agreement is expected to be signed by the end of April.



Marie Claude Joachim, Human Resources Director in Carrefour Colombia, members of the National Trade Union School in Colombia and Jacqueline Poitou, national union representative in Carrefour France, from Force Ouvriere attending the first bargaining session. The President of the union, Luz Marina Díaz, expressed the union’s willingness to initiate a social dialogue to improve industrial relations, salaries and working conditions in the company. She also stated that this is a historic moment both for Carrefour workers and Colombian workers in general.
